Privacy Policy

Effective November 3, 2026. Applies to the TiengViet Reader Android app, package com.tiengviet.reader.learn, and this website.

The short version

No account, advertising, analytics or tracking. Tone marking, word grouping and difficulty estimates run on your device. The one thing that leaves the device is the word you tap and the sentence around it, for an AI explanation.

AI explanations

When you tap a word, that word and the sentence around it (up to 400 characters) are sent over HTTPS through the app's API gateway to Google Gemini, only to produce the explanation you asked for. The rest of the pasted text is not sent. The gateway operator and Google necessarily process the request and connection information to return a response, and their own security and retention controls apply. The app does not use this text for advertising or profiling.

Do not paste passwords, card numbers, identity documents or other sensitive information.

Stored on your device

Saved words with their sentence, saved reading sessions, and your settings are kept in the app's private storage and are not sent to the developer. They may be included in your own Android device backup if you have it turned on. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling removes them from the device.

Exports

Word Bank export writes a file to a location you choose, or passes text to an app you choose. What happens after that is under that app's terms.

Permissions

The app requests internet access only, used for AI explanations.

This website

No account, advertising, analytics, form or cookie. The hosting provider may process basic request information such as IP address and browser details to deliver the site.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else.
